Kranj Water Utility has implemented the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) solution to collect water consumption data faster and more efficiently. Iskraemeco offers a wide range of solutions, devices, components, and connectivity that help optimise the water network infrastructure, drive down costs with improved operations and minimise manual processes. Iskraemeco plans to roll out similar systems in other water utilities across Europe, inspiring other cities to embrace smart metering and tap into the transformative benefits of IoT.
The foundation of smart water management solutions are smart water meters equipped with advanced communication capabilities. Iskraemeco offer a combination of cutting-edge volumetric, ultrasonic, and Woltmann measurement technologies. The supply and installation of smart water meters were done in line with the 5-year contract concluded between Iskraemeco and Kranj Water Utility (Komunala Kranj d.o.o.).
To enable remote readings, the following water metering and communication technologies were used:
Remote Metering increases operational efficiency by wirelessly measuring water consumption data, without the need to check each device manually, thereby eliminating manual meter reading errors.
Using a Walk-by/Drive-by data collection approach enables remote reading directly from the vehicle or sidewalk with higher data accuracy and more reliable readings. Better meter management helps manage the company’s spending and plan for future needs.
The software enables access and analyses of massive amounts of data, which offers insights, facilitates data-driven decisions, and improves the satisfaction of water network operators and end-users.
