Challenge / Goal

Gävle aims to become climate-neutral by 2030. Achieving this goal requires the involvement of companies, the public sector, academia, and civil society. Climate change presents one of the greatest challenges of our time, demanding radical reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. Active climate efforts benefit companies by strengthening brands, increasing customer loyalty, and attracting competent labour.

Solution

Funding from the national strategic innovation programme Viable Cities enabled the establishment of the Gävle Climate Agreement. Inspired by existing climate agreements and discussions with an initial strategy group of 15 organisations, the structure includes:

  • Round table/member meetings: decision-making level/CEOs
