Challenge / Goal
The primary challenge is ensuring the AI assistant on the smart glasses has up-to-date and comprehensive information about Tampere's attractions to serve as a reliable tour guide for tourists. Additionally, there are specific challenges to address: initially limited and outdated data on Tampere attractions; maintaining the smart glasses, which involves cleaning, calibrating, and potentially repairing the devices; and the use of Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses and Meta AI technology, which is a closed system and complicates AI customization. The goal is to enhance the AI's data accuracy and maintain the smart glasses efficiently to provide a seamless tourist experience.
Solution
To address these challenges, Points-of-Service (POS) will be established at the airport, train station, Visit Tampere office, and other tourist attractions, allowing tourists to quickly and easily rent smart glasses and begin their tours. The AI tour guide, powered by Meta AI technology, is available in multiple languages, enabling tourists to translate Finnish into their preferred language. This solution is more cost-effective and scalable than traditional tour guides and offers the advantage of being available to users throughout the day.

Local businesses in Tampere can update their information in the database, promoting their offerings to tourists and enhancing the overall experience.
